My name’s Gwion Llwyd. My wife, Louise, and I run a small bed and breakfast on a working Welsh hill farm in Dyffryn Ardudwy, Snowdonia. We have two daughters Lowri and Seren, two cats, Oscar and Mog, two ducks, Will and Martha, and a dog called Del. Oh, and about 200 welsh mountain sheep and 40 or so welsh black cows. Louise and I both gave up our office jobs in 2005 and moved back to Byrdir, my childhood home, to have a go at running a B&B. It’s seems to be going ok at the moment and a lot of our guests seem to come back so we can’t be doing too badly. We hope you like this website, have a look at our blog and please feel free to add comments. And of course, if you’re planning a trip to North Wales we’d be very happy to have you stay at our friendly guesthouse.

Myself and my daughter stayed at Byrdir for a short break in July 2008 and I must say that this is the most peaceful place we have ever stayed. The accomodation is perfect and Del is a joy. Louise and Gwion have an absolute gem placed in the most idyllic location. Many thanks to them for making our stay so enjoyable (especially the fantastic breakfasts).
We have just returned from a break at this beautiful farm,both ian and me and the children had a fantastic time. The accomodation is first class and we fell in love with our little cottage. The view is fantastic, the whole place just feels so relaxing and grounds you from your hectic life back home. Thankyou very much.
